The 144-room Churchill gives business travelers a pied-à-terre on Connecticut Avenue, where embassies, restaurants, and shops lend a continental air to one of the most exciting urban spaces in Washington. Each of the spacious, high-ceilinged guestrooms features a separate study with work desk, telephone, computer modem hook-ups, and fax line—a mini-suite for the price of a standard room. Convenient same-day laundry and dry cleaning services are available.
The Beaux-Arts building opened in 1906. Now completely restored, it lends Gilded Age charm to the guest experience. The hotel's multilingual staff adds a European feel to an establishment that has a long history of hosting diplomats from across the globe.

What to expect:

Amenity highlights: The most surprising thing about the Churchill is the size of the guestrooms. Besides the generous square footage in the sleeping area itself, each room has a separate study, a small room with a work desk, lamp, telephone, and chair, that lets guests keep their business affairs out of the bedroom. High ceilings contribute to the open feel of the rooms, and bathrooms have a separate, brightly lit vanity area.
Insider tip: It would be almost criminal not to take advantage of the Churchill's location to do some exploring. Dupont Circle is five blocks south along Connecticut, and the surrounding blocks encompass a number of restaurants, nightclubs, and shops. Five blocks to the northeast (along Columbia Road) is the heart of Adams-Morgan, a funky neighborhood of ethnic food restaurants and popular nightspots.

Chartwell Grill – Named after Winston Churchill's country estate, this elegant dining room serves Continental cuisine such as steak with frites and crème caramel. The grill serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Chartwell Grill Lounge – The dark, leather-and-wood decor makes this a warm and intimate getaway for afternoon meals or evening cocktails.
In-room dining is available until 11 PM daily.
