Grand Hyatt Hotel - Property information

What to expect: Entertainment kicks in the minute guests step inside a soaring, glass-topped, 12-story atrium decorated with live, 20-foot-tall trees and a 7,000-square-foot blue lagoon with a two-story waterfall. On an island in the middle of the lagoon a pianist fingers Cole Porter tunes on a baby grand piano. Fanning out around the perimeter of the lobby are five restaurants and bars serving fare from burgers to gourmet tapas. The prime location and knowledgeable staff of this vast hotel draw a mixed demographic of conventioneers and business types, tourists, and sports fans.
  • Amenity highlights: The Grand Hyatt’s two-story fitness center (fee) includes aerobics classes throughout the day, along with workout equipment, lap pool, whirlpool, and saunas. But the biggest bonus is the hotel’s direct underground access to Metro Center, where guests can access D.C.’s slick subway system without braving the elements. Services for the hearing-impaired are also available.
  • Insider tip: Just four blocks from the Grand Hyatt, the International Spy Museum attracts large crowds with exhibits of artifacts such as miniature cameras and code-breaking equipment. Guests can skip the wait in line for tickets by buying them from the Hyatt’s concierge desk.
