What to expect: This hotel, with its strongly tropical ambience, is part of the lushly landscaped and self-contained Grand Cypress Resort that covers 1,500 acres. The 18-story, pyramid-shaped Hyatt Regency has three guestroom wings and a 200-foot atrium lobby. The hotel opened in 1984, and the rooms were completely renovated in 1996. Free shuttles are available to the nearby theme parks. - Amenity highlights: Recreational choices include an 800,000-gallon pool; 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus–designed championship golf; and equestrian, tennis, and fitness centers. The private lake offers sandy beaches, canoeing, and sailing.
