Roosevelt Hotel - Room detailsThis hotel features 305 guestrooms. The remodeled, oversized guestrooms in the 12-story tower feature minimalist décor (white walls and bedding), thick carpets, dark wooden bed frames and desks, large windows that open, down comforters, and tiled baths with glass shower doors. Baths and closets in some rooms are separated from sleeping quarters by short hallways, and some rooms have baths with shower stalls. Original handprints in cement by contemporary celebrities hang in some rooms, and eventually will be installed in all tower rooms. The rooms in the 2-story, poolside cabana (renovated in 2000) are cozier, more colorful, and more private, and offer amenities similar to the tower rooms. VCRs are available at no extra charge. - Poolside Cabana Room - The poolside cabana rooms surround the pool courtyard, feature two double beds, and can accommodate a maximum of four guests. These rooms have private balconies or patios overlooking the tropically landscaped courtyard and Tropicana Bar.
- Premium Tower Room - The rooms in the tower feature one king-sized bed and can accommodate a maximum of two guests. Depending on location, configuration of rooms and furnishings can vary. Some rooms offer views of Hollywood Boulevard and Mann’s Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.
Roosevelt Hotel - Property informationWhat to expect: This hotel, which once dazzled the likes of Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford and was the site of the first Academy Awards® in 1929, still has plenty of original Spanish Colonial decor. Recent renovations have transformed the style into one more befitting today’s guests–an upscale Japanese restaurant has been added and the mezzanine photos and memorabilia removed. - Amenity highlights: The fabulously ornate Spanish Colonial lobby houses a sexy corner bar next to a European-style restaurant. The pool and spa in the courtyard are ringed with towering palms, chaise lounges, and the Tropicana cocktail lounge. Feinstein's at Cinegrill now showcases top-notch entertainment.
- Insider tip: More information on this hotel’s fascinating, celebrity-rich history is offered in its press kit, which can be requested from the hotel’s sales office. The kit includes a flier titled Tall Tales, which documents many of the hotel’s purported “hauntings” (as in actor Montgomery Clift’s old room, Room 928).
