Inn at Harvard - Property information

What to expect: The glamorous, four-story atrium is patterned after the interior courtyard of Boston's famous museum of international art, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The atrium has balconied, Palladian windows; murals; statues; big bouquets of fresh flowers; and comfortable couches, chairs, and tables where guests can meet or enjoy intimate breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
  • Amenity highlights: Owned by Harvard University, the inn gives guests dining privileges at the private Harvard Faculty Club across the street. The private organization, founded in 1929, restricts use of the club to faculty and graduates. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the comfortable, historic interior and a shaded terrace is available in summer. A luncheon buffet is served in the Theatre Room. Fare includes soups, salads, fish, lamb, veal, and steak.
  • Insider tip: A good time to visit adjacent Harvard Square is during May Fair, which offers artisans, ethnic cuisine, and free entertainment. A mile from that, Central Square is the setting for many summer festivals, such as the International Food Festival, Charles River Festival, and the Greek Festival. The Charles River, 3 blocks away, is where the Head of the Charles Regatta occurs each October.
